Xenoverse 1 & 2…Which Is Better?

Dragonball Xenoverse was released in 2015 and Xenoverse 2 was released a year later in 2016 with massive improvements that already made a top tier game even better. The Xenoverse story follows the time patrol as they face various threats to the timeline that we have come to love. In my opinion, I think the first game had the better tone. It was more serious, and it just felt like the stakes were higher than in the second game. There’s no doubt that the second game took what the first game did and made it better, but I think that only applies to how the game looks visually. For example, Saiyans in the first game are incredibly OP. Being able to spam ultimates while you’re in super Saiyan form was a sight to behold, making the hardest of fights trivial. Let’s not forget that you stay in super Saiyan during cutscenes, which is something that should’ve never been taken away in the first place. However, aside from a few things, Xenoverse 2 is better in every other way. A bigger hub to explore, more masters to train with, more transformations and a ton of epic scenes during the story that amplified how people felt about the first game. It’s obvious that xenoverse was an experiment gone right and for good reason considering that anime games are pretty much underappreciated and not that popular among the majority, but I think Xenoverse opened up doors for anime games by creating an original story and not straying too far away from the source material. While Xenoverse 1 is pretty much a dead game now, Xenoverse 2 is still thriving all these years later and still receiving updates and DLC. Solidifying its place as the better game.
